The Challenge

Jim McLoughney Menswear was not the only company that found the new, tough pandemic environment a hard task. A thriving concern that had little reason to fear footfall in its Nenagh, County Tipperary store would decrease unexpectedly found it had virtually stopped.

Objectives

The company turned to Emarkable in their time of need. Suddenly, the website that had supported the business in a comparatively small way was essential, and it needed to work, fast. In fact, James needed a new website.
The new website needed a smart and professional e-commerce platform, and now online advertising had taken on an importance it had not seen before.

Social media advertisements had to be put up as soon as possible, along with Pay Per Click (PPC), search engine optimisation, content development and an email marketing campaign. These were all not just important; they were vital, and very urgent to get the store making sales online.

Strategy

Emarkable deployed its well-proven strategic approach to achieving these objectives. Audits of the firm’s social media and online content presence were undertaken, and from this, a twelve-month content plan was implemented to fill in the gaps. Search Engine Optimisation and Pay per Click were analysed and a plan created to meet the set KPIs.

Third-party analytic tools were introduced in order to maximise the website’s effectiveness. The analysis results were used to refine the website’s design and content so as to improve the conversion optimisation. These results were analysed weekly and adjusted to meet our objectives.

COVID-19 Online Retail Scheme

The implementation of the new strategy benefitted from the support of the DETE Online Retail scheme, introduced to assist retailers to build a more resilient business, both online and offline. This additional funding produced positive effects on sales and lead generation.

Results

Jim McLoughney Menswear not only survived, it thrived, and it is now in a position to move forward into a still uncertain future with more confidence than most of its competitors.
