5 Content Marketing Trends in 2015

As expected, content marketing is continuing to evolve into 2015. While the demands may indeed be changing, novel and innovative approaches are always hallmarks which will define success. So, what can we expect to see during the months ahead?

1. Strategic Distribution

While content creation is still king, companies will learn to embrace more diverse channels of distribution. Not only will this include the incorporation of m-commerce into an overall strategy, but building quality relationships and engaging with relevant distributors will likely take centre stage.

2. The Inclusion of Social Media

This should come as no surprise, as this trend was already seen in 2014 and earlier. Still, companies will increase their presence across the main platforms and notably, they must learn to embrace the concept of proactively targeting their demographic.

3. Content Integration

The days of the hard sell are over. Advertisers will place calls to action and branding within relevant content as opposed through banner ads or other “traditional” forms. This is quite important, for Google is placing more emphasis upon quality content in 2015.

4. Guest Blogging Returns

Although some have taken a hiatus from guest blogging, this form of publicity is likely to make a comeback in 2015. As the need for legitimate and reputable blogs rises, so will companies begin to use this method for their benefit.

5. Big Budgets

Finally companies will devote larger portions of their budgets into content marketing. This equates to increased diversification alongside trending approaches such as more sophisticated approaches to what many now feel to be rather “outdated” email marketing.

So, some of the primary trends will be:
• More robust distribution.
• Social media integration.
• More targeted calls to action.
• The return of the guest blogger.
• Higher budgetary allowances.

It will indeed be interesting to see what else 2015 may have in store.
