Tips for Creating Websites that Convert

All companies today know they need to have a good website for their business. However, they may not realize that the initial impressions of the website will make a major difference in how long someone stays on the site and whether they opt to buy from you or not. You need to make sure you are developing your site to increase your conversion rate and not just the number of visitors to your site. Success is measured by conversions—were you able to get the visitors to take the action you requested or not? Below, you can learn more about some of the best practices to use when creating websites that Convert (can get customers to take action).

Simplicity, Quality, and Speed Matter

One of the first things you should keep in mind is that people who are searching on the web don’t want to waste their time. If you have a site that loads slowly, most people are going to back out and look at a different website—a competitor’s website. Slow sites mean low conversions. Therefore, you want to do everything you can to ensure a fast loading time for your website. It is okay if you opt to go simple with your site, too. You don’t need a lot of bells and whistles. What you do need is for the customers to convert once they reach your site. Now that have a fast, quality site, it’s time to work on the CTAs.

You Need Clear Calls to Action

One of the reasons people don’t respond to some of the digital marketing is that it’s unclear. Typically, this means there isn’t a call to action. Nothing is telling the prospective customer what they need to do next. That’s a mistake. Once you hook the visitors with the content on your site, you have to leave them with a CTA that will make them want to learn more. For example, if you wanted to learn more about what we could offer you, we’d tell you to check out the Academy for more tactics.

Run Tests to See What Works Best

Even though you might feel that you have page content that is going to work and that will make your customers buy, sign up, etc., you need to test. This means testing out content and CTAs to see how they work. Keep testing and improving on the content, so you can start to see more customers following through.

Rework Your Website and Make It Convert

Having a website isn’t enough, and now that you know this, it’s time to think about reworking your site.
