Google launches Google My Business

Last week Google launched Google My Business.

This new platform is designed to make it easier for small business owners to manage their online presence across various Google tools.

With Google My Business, business owners can update their business information, add photos, view their reviews, and share updates from one place.

Google users have had the ability to do this in the past, but they were spread out across multiple platforms such as:

  • Google Maps
  • Google Places
  • Google+

The Google My Business Solution

Prior to the introduction of this new platform, managing your business’s presence across the various Google tools wasn’t exactly a simple process.

They have acknowledged this problem, stating that they had complaints from many business owners, that the Google tools were confusing and spread out in an “overwhelming amount of places.”

Google My Business offers a much needed solution for small businesses. The new tool is a streamlined solution that will let business owners manage their online presence allowing them to be found easily by new customers. Google is currently in the process of upgrading current users of Google Places for Business and Google+ to Google My Business.

If you’re new to Google, you will have to set up a Google account and follow the steps to build an online presence for your business.
